How Spiritual Capital Becomes Integrated Into Your Living Legacy
Spiritual Capital is not built and passed on through intention alone.
Intention is put into action though increased understanding, conversation, and shared experience.
Imagine a conversation where …
Spiritual values are not simply assumed, but personally understood.
Differences in values are approached with curiosity, respect, and connection.
Spiritual legacy is carried forward though shared discovery that leads to understanding.
Our guided Discovery Experience helps families uncover and understand their shared beliefs.
Many families have strong values and faith but struggle to express and discuss them in a way that connects across generations.
Our guided Discovery Experience helps each family member …
- discover their unique identity and design.
- understand how their spiritual values-their faith shaped that design.
- recognize how to appreciate, encourage and equip one another more fully.
Spiritual Capital within a family is preserved and developed when each person understands what they have, and identifies the best way they can live it out and pass it on.

James E. Hughes, Jr. (Jay) and Dr. Lisa Miller share, in this 10 minute video, that “Spiritual Capital is reflected in how we care for one another, how we hold purpose, and how we orient our lives toward something larger than ourselves. Spiritual Capital shapes the lives we lead and the legacy we leave.”

What is Spirituality?
Many people refer to spirituality as connecting to something greater than themself.
It can be expressed in what some people consider religious practices and beliefs associated with an organized community of faith.
Or it can be expressed with what some people consider more secular practices like meditation, journaling, and spending time in outdoor activities.
Or for some people it is a combination of both.
What is Living Legacy?
For many people “it is not what we leave behind. It is what we set in motion.” -David Green, Legacy Life.
What is Spiritual Legacy?
For many it is their values, beliefs, wisdom, and character traits you pass on to the rising generation.
They see it. Live out your core values as consistently as possible.
They hear it. Teach and inspire others by sharing your faith or personal philosophy.
They are shaped by it. Mentor the rising generation. Your spiritual legacy continues through the lives you have influenced.
They read it. Share wisdom by putting family stories in writing to preserve them for future generations. What lessons learned have been most impactful for you?
How does the Discovery Experience help you develop and grow your spiritual legacy?

What is Christian Spiritual Legacy?
For many it is the faith and Christ-centered lessons they pass on to the rising generation.
They see it. Model trust in God’s word and reliance on His promises. You live out your faith through love, service, and generosity.
They hear it. Engage together in prayer, worship, and faith-based discussions. You share your testimony and moments God worked powerfully in your life.
They are shaped by it. Disciple (mentor) the next generation. Your Christian spiritual legacy is strengthened by keeping God at the center of your life and your family life.
They read it. Write a spiritual “will” that passes on lessons learned on your spiritual journey and expresses your hopes for future generations.
