Hi! I’m Managing Director and Discovery Experience Guide, Renee Porter-Medley, MPS-OD, CFP, CKA

My model role/ personal metaphor is orchestrator, one who harmonizes joint action.

While pursuing my Master’s degree in Organization Development and Change Management, I viewed my studies through the lens of family as an organization. Now, I apply insights from ongoing training and study to reinforce the effectiveness of our Discovery Experience. This includes an International Coaching Federation recognized Life Coach program, the Foundations of Appreciative Inquiry, Family Systems, Non-Violent Communication, and GPS Life Journey. I stay current on topics related to Family Dynamics, Family Legacy Planning and Individual Development as an active member of the Kingdom Advisors Legacy Community and the Purposeful Planning Institute. I no longer practice as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional but I keep my license current so I am better equipped to collaborate with Advisors and Attorneys who would like our support helping their client discover and develop the family’s human, social, intellectual, and spiritual capital.

I began my personal purposeful journey in 2014 by helping my spouse and three daughters, as well as my seven siblings and 23 nieces and nephews, leverage resources to deepen understanding of themselves and each other to help strengthen our relationships. Now, in addition to my own family, I help other families who care deeply for each other avoid drifting apart or having differences cause division.

My model role/ personal metaphor is catalyst, one who provokes or speeds up significant change or action. I designed our Discovery Experience to create a catalytic

moment, a spark, for your family continuum. I am “keeper of the flame” for our impactful process that helps increase self-awareness and self-actualization, and I am thrilled to equip and encourage our fantastic Family Tapestry Team that serves as your guide.

I excel in the language of metaphor and use it to enrich individual insights, and I enjoy being a master weaver who brings the individual discovery threads together into recognizable patterns and themes for the facilitated, family conversation. My experience includes 20 years of experience as a Senior Administrative Officer with Princeton University, and I am a Colonel, United States Army, Retired.

Hi! I’m Learning Director and Discovery Experience Guide, Laura Jennings, M.Ed.

My model role is observer, I thrive on gathering observations and insights to help individuals become the best version of themselves.

In addition to serving as a Discovery Experience Guide, I also consult with students and their parents to help them navigate high school, college and opportunities post-graduation.

I am skilled at tailoring our Discovery Experience and my consulting to meet the needs of ability diverse young adults.

I leverage my Master’s in Education and diverse professional and personal experiences to help others get excited about topics relevant to their individual and family experiences. I am a high energy educator and public speaker, and excel at communication, team work, mentoring, and instructional design.

My spouse, three children, numerous cousins, and my nieces and nephews inspire me to keep learning and then sharing empowering insights and resources for personal and relationship growth.

Hi! I’m Resource Director and Discovery Experience Guide, Will Hughes, MCC

My model role/ personal metaphor is surveyor, one who examines in a graceful, comprehensive way.

I am deeply committed to helping individuals and their family engage in impactful conversations, and I am confident helping them approach differences from the perspective of curiosity. My expertise is supported by my Master’s in Clinical Counseling and over a decade of serving as a Discovery Experience Guide, Mentor, and Mental Health Counselor.

Seperate from my role with Family Tapestry LLC, I specialize in providing mental health services to adolescent and young-adult clients experiencing the symptoms of ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, Depression, SUD, and combined diagnosis. My approach often utilizes outdoor natural experiences like mushroom foraging, fishing, hiking, and bird call identification to enhance my symptoms management skills-training sessions. I enjoy spending time with my daughter, and leveraging my experience as a chef and as an amateur mycologist to entertain family and friends.

My model role is advocate, one who presents how best to support others. For clients engaged in our Discovery Experience, I help remove barriers without influencing results.

As their Process Advocate I may:

• Read assessment materials aloud.
• Clarify wording or concepts.
• Assist with speech-to-text note taking.
• Help manage pacing and attention.
• Provide accessible, judgment free support.

These small adjustments allow the client’s true strengths, preferences, and motivations to emerge clearly and authentically.
