★★★★★

I’m truly grateful for the exceptional guidance Laura provided our sons. As a parent, watching them step into adulthood was both exciting and uncertain. I was looking for a way to more effectively support them as they prepare to make important life decisions.

The Discovery Experience provided my sons an opportunity to better understand themselves, what motivates them, and the best roles for their unique combination of mission, competencies and styles.

For our family, the experience opened the door to new kinds of conversations. I gained a deeper understanding of how my sons see the world, and they gained a shared language and increased confidence to express who they are becoming.

If you are curious about how this process might support your son or daughter, I highly recommend a conversation with Laura.

Success stories

Ruth age 21, ADHD, Executive Function Challenges, & Capacity Challenges (Anxiety)

Ruth is a 21-year-old diversely abled woman with a clear passion: she dreams of working as a veterinarian. Although her academic skills aren’t aligned with the structure, pace, or demands of a traditional university path, Ruth is capable and determined. She drives, works, and takes classes, yet her current skill set naturally shapes which courses and jobs are accessible to her. At present, Ruth is focused on strengthening the physical and logistical skills needed to maintain her job at a grocery store. While this role is common for young adults, Ruth and her family know it is not aligned with her long-term interests.

As she continues to mature, the emphasis is shifting from “first jobs” to identifying a sustainable and meaningful life path. For now, the grocery store position serves as a capacity-building opportunity, helping Ruth grow the foundational skills she will need for future endeavors.

With these considerations in mind, Ruth and her parents chose to participate in the Discovery Experience.

Although they understood that becoming a veterinarian was not a realistic outcome, they were still unsure how, or whether,  to pursue Ruth’s passion for working with animals. Their hope was to invest wisely in opportunities that would be achievable, sustainable, and fulfilling, especially because Ruth navigates her world challenged by neurodiversity, executive function, and overall capacity. Without thoughtful direction, they worried she might spend her early adult years cycling through jobs without gaining momentum or feeling fulfilled.

The Discovery Experience offered exactly the clarity they needed. Ruth walked away with heart-warming validation that she is uniquely designed and full of purpose. Her composite report resonated deeply with her, helping her understand why she often operates differently from her family members and peers. Moments of laughter and recognition lightened long-standing frustrations, and her growth with self-awareness shifted her perception of  “family dynamic”  in a positive way.

Now, Ruth and her parents are equipped with meaningful insights into which next steps are likely to yield the best long-term results. They recognize that Ruth’s path toward independence will look different from that of her siblings or peers; and they now have a much clearer picture of where that path can lead.

Andy age 26 dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD

Andy is a 26-year-old college graduate with a degree in Music Therapy. She sought out the Discovery Experience to gain clarity around which professional roles might be most fulfilling before pursuing specific employment opportunities.

Although Andy is a highly capable individual, she has often felt misaligned with traditional educational environments. When asked why, she explained that high-stakes testing rarely measured the areas where she truly excelled. She also shared that some educators were not respectful of her neurological differences and consistently expected students to demonstrate learning in a single, rigid way.

Andy brings an impressive skill set, clear intelligence, a magnetic personality, and a genuinely kind heart. However, fluid reading and writing have never been her strengths. Andy has dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD, which often made academic work feel cumbersome and unpleasant. As a result, learning could become a joyless cycle of frustration rather than an engaging process.

When considering the Discovery Experience, Andy expressed understandable concern about the reading and written components. Our process advocate worked closely with her to address these concerns and identify meaningful solutions. Adjustments were made to better align the process with Andy’s preferred way of engaging and completing tasks. During her Discovery Experience, Andy encountered a few unexpected barriers, but through open communication and additional adjustments with the process advocate, the integrity of the process was preserved.

These adjustments restored a sense of ease and enjoyment to Andy’s journey toward greater self-awareness. Anxiety and frustration faded as she moved through a Discovery Experience intentionally tailored to her unique abilities. Upon completion, Andy shared that working with the process advocate made the experience feel authentic and validating rather than frustrating or chore-like. She strongly resonated with her results and especially valued having the insights captured in an organized composite that she can revisit as she moves forward.

Are you Diversely Abled?

Do these phrases sound familiar?

Not everyone moves through school or early work experiences the same way. Many ability diverse individuals have faced environments that weren’t built with their learning style, processing needs, or strengths in mind. Their stories often sound familiar:

“school was really hard”

“I just wanted to be like everyone else”

“People at work don’t get me”

“I’m not sure what kind of job I will be good at”

Feel like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole?

One young woman described her experience as “trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.” She spent years trying to figure out what she was doing wrong, and pouring so much energy into adjusting her work only to meet the minimum expectations. Some teachers/bosses helped her shine; others simply helped her get by. The result? Stress, self-doubt, and a lingering belief that she was “less than” instead of simply “different than.”

What are the benefits of our Discovery Experience?

Our Discovery Experience is designed to uncover each client’s human capital, layer by layer. Every person receives support tailored to their needs, and we make intentional accommodations for those who may not move through the process in a “typical” way.

By the end, clients walk away with an authentic, strengths-based composite that helps them understand who they are, what drives them, and where they are built to thrive. These insights guide them toward roles and environments that align with their natural wiring.

What is the benefit of adding a Process Advocate to our Discovery Experience?

Diversely abled clients, and their parents, frequently describe the Discovery Experience as empowering. Instead of feeling left out, or “less than”,  they feel validated, celebrated, and better equipped to make decisions about their future.

The insights they gain help them choose paths, environments, and roles that support confidence, contentment, and long-term fulfillment.

Our goal is simple: remove barriers, honor differences, and ensure every client feels seen, understood, and celebrated.
